Resumo
Este artigo explora o desenvolvimento e a aplicação de índices compostos como ferramentas para simplificar e sintetizar dados institucionais complexos em Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES). Ao condensar múltiplos indicadores de desempenho, crescimento e sucesso em índices estruturados, a abordagem amplia a interpretabilidade de conjuntos de dados multidimensionais. Esses índices são então integrados a classificadores de Support Vector Machine (SVM) para identificar padrões institucionais e classificar as instituições em categorias estratégicas distintas. O estudo destaca como essa combinação não apenas fortalece a capacidade preditiva dos modelos de aprendizado de máquina, mas também fornece percepções mais claras para a alta gestão. Em última instância, a integração de índices compostos com modelos SVM demonstra um potencial significativo para apoiar a tomada de decisão estratégica baseada em evidências, oferecendo às IES uma estrutura analítica robusta para alinhar o desempenho institucional com os objetivos de desenvolvimento de longo prazo.
