Resumo
Este artigo é uma contribuição para os Estudos Pós Traumáticos Coloniais. Tem como objetivo examinar as formas pelas quais as culturas árabes suportam as sequelas duradouras da perda do al-Andalus, ocorrida em 1492. Seu foco está especialmente nas ramificações de um momento tão importante da história que tem contribuído de forma duradoura para a legitimação da destruição da herança das culturas árabes/muçulmanas. O conhecimento centrado no Ocidente veio a licenciar a violência baseada na demonização das formas de conhecimento do Outro. Com base em um repensar pós-colonial do trauma, as culturas árabes testemunham a existência dos mesmos quadros discursivos que tornaram possível a destruição do patrimônio cultural de al-Andalus.
